Deep wrinkles such as frown lines between the eyes, forehead lines and crows feet are caused by overactive muscle movement which gradually wear away the collagen in the skin, causing the skin to crease and wrinkles to appear. The injection is a purified form of a specific neuromuscular blocking agent which acts by stopping the signal from the nerve to the muscle, thereby preventing the muscle from contracting, particularly on areas such as the forehead and between the eyebrows.
